This is my first ho me work on this blog, which is “Frame your blog around your own “literacy moment” (a moment where you realized that you knew something).”
I am a Chinese. There are two kinds of Chinese in this country, one is ABC, meaning Chinese who were born in us; the other kind is like me, first generation.
One time I was buying something at an agent, maybe my travel agent or insurance agent, I don’t remember exactly; it was something like I own the agent (a young Chinese lady) $155 dollars, I give her $205 and hoping her give me $50 back, then I saw her took out a pine and piece of paper start calculating. So I asked her “are you ABC?” “How did you know?” She asks me back. Man I fell well; at that moment I knew even my English sucks compare to them ABCs, at least I can get the numbers right. That was the moment I realized that I knew something, happily.
